Management of Natural Resources (NRM) is a cornerstone of VIDHAN's vision for sustainable development. Our program is dedicated to designing and demonstrating innovative technologies, tools, and methods while building community capacities for effective conservation and management practices. We have constructed or renovated approximately 100 low-cost water harvesting infrastructures in the climate-affected Vindhyanchal region, benefiting thousands of households. Our organization has implemented farm-based interventions related to soil and water conservation, irrigation systems, and sustainable farming practices. Additionally, we have undertaken planning and management of integrated watershed management for a total area of ------ ha. We promote resource-efficient irrigation practices, such as solar-based irrigation and micro-irrigation systems, and have piloted these in farmers' fields. Crop improvement practices, including the promotion of improved varieties and the demonstration of short-duration crop varieties, are also core activities.
VIDHAN has successfully demonstrated agriculture-horticulture practices, including WADI, with 1,500 tribal farmers, providing training and capacity-building support. A Jaivik Shodh Kendra has been established to promote organic farming, offering capacity-building support to farmers. Our organization sustainably manages more than ------- hectares of land. To promote awareness, we are implementing an Integrated Watershed Management program with support from NABARD. The objective of this intervention is to promote sustainable land and water management practices through demonstration and capacity building. Watershed Committee members have received training on watershed planning and the technical and social aspects of watershed management, enhancing their skills to manage local resources effectively.
